Cancellation Conditions

Welcome to The Oude Pastorie Lisse B.V.

If you made a reservation at The Oude Pastorie via one of our digital booking channels, like: our website, mobile website or Online Travel Agency (OTA), these cancellation conditions, together with our privacy policy, booking conditions and all other written information that we brought to your attention, before we’ve confirmed your reservation, will be applied.

Please read these cancellation conditions carefully. Here we explain a number of important issues and describe our and your respective rights and obligations in the event of a possible cancellation.

In these cancellation conditions, ‘you’ and ‘your’ refer to the first-mentioned person on the reservation as well as the persons on behalf of whom the reservation was made. The website is owned and operated by De Oude Pastorie Lisse BV (‘we’, ‘us’, ‘our’) and when you make a reservation, your booking has been received by us.

By canceling a reservation, the first-mentioned person on the reservation agrees on behalf of all persons mentioned in the reservation that:

  • he / she has read these cancellation terms and conditions and is authorized to be bound by them
  • he / she accepts the financial responsibility or consequences that are bound to the conditions when canceling a reservation on behalf of all persons mentioned in the reservation

1. Cancelation by Guest

If you wish to cancel your confirmed reservation, you must follow the procedure(s) described here. If you have booked via:

  • The Oude Pastorie, then you can cancel the reservation for free up to 24 hours before check-in date. If you cancel your reservation within 24 hours before the check-in date, the total amount (100%) of your reservation will be charged. The Oude Pastorie can be reached by phone via: 0252-204 004 or via e-mail: info@deoudepastorielisse.nl
  • Booking.com, then you must cancel the reservation via the booking system of Booking.com. Your reservation can be canceled free of charge up to 24 hours before the check-in date. If you cancel within 24 hours before the check-in date, the total amount (100%) of your reservation will be charged. If you are entitled to a part or whole amount according to the cancellation conditions, Booking.com will refund that specific amount to you. Please note that it can take a few days before you receive your money back.

Please Note: Some bookings may be considered “non-refundable” bookings, due to the low price guarantee associated with them. This means that you choose to pay a lower amount for this reservation than the standard amount per night, under the conditions that it will not be refunded in cause of a cancelation. If you do decide to cancel such a reservation, then unfortunately the amount paid will not be returned to you. There are no exceptions applicable to this condition, so choose carefully when making a reservation.

  • Expedia.nl of Hotels.nl, then you must cancel the reservation through the Expedia.com booking system. Your reservation can be canceled free of charge up to 24 hours before the check-in date. If you cancel within 24 hours before the check-in date, the total amount (100%) of the reservation will still be charged.

Please Note: Some bookings may be considered “non-refundable” bookings, due to the low price guarantee associated with them. This means that you choose to pay a lower amount for this reservation than the standard amount per night, under the conditions that it will not be refunded in cause of a cancelation. If you do decide to cancel such a reservation, then unfortunately the amount paid will not be returned to you. There are no exceptions applicable to this condition, so choose carefully when making a reservation.

  • AirBnB.nl, other cancellation conditions apply here. Read the terms and conditions on their website. Please note: The possibility to cancel free of charge up to 24 hours before the check-in date, does not apply via this booking channel.
  • Other Booking Channels/Online Booking Agencies (OTA), here too other cancellation conditions may apply. Read the cancellation conditions on the website of the relevant booking channel. However, we assure you that we do not work together with other booking channels than those mentioned above.


Note that certain reservations cannot be refunded in the event of a cancellation, once the reservation has been confirmed.
If the reason for your cancellation is covered by the conditions of your insurance policy, you can try to reclaim these costs. Therefore always take out a travel- or cancellation insurance.

2. Shorten your stay

If you decide to check out before the mandatory checkout date, we cannot guarantee to refund the costs of the unused remaining time (nights) of your reservation, nor can we be liable for any additional costs that you may incur because of this. Depending on the circumstances, your travel insurance may offer coverage for additional costs because of shortening your stay, so we recommend that you submit any claims directly to them.

To shorten your stay, we advise you to directly contact the booking channel/Online Travel Agency (OTA) where you have booked your stay immediately. They can make the necessary adjustments to our booking system with (possible) permission from The Oude Pastorie.

3. Emergency cancellation/shorten stay

Should it be necessary to cancel or shorten your stay because of an emergency? Then you should contact the booking channel/OTA where your reservation was made immediately. They will check and process the seriousness of the situation to see if you are entitled to a part or the whole amount of the remaining nights. Therefore the relevant booking channel/ OTA will contact The Oude Pastorie to discuss the possible conditions and to reach a fair agreement on a (partial) refund. If a reservation is canceled within 24 hours before check-in date, then most likely the cost of only 1 night stay may be charged.

Please Note: We cannot guarantee that permission will always be granted for these kinds of situations or that you will receive a part or even the entire amount of your reservation back. The Oude Pastorie has the final responsibility and retains the right to make decisions, without the obligation to give a reason, which could be considered a disadvantage to the customer or guest, with regard to the recovery of a part or the entire amount of the reservation. In this case, Article 5 may still offer a solution to the guests.

4. Cancellation by The Oude Pastorie

We may cancel your reservation at any time with immediate effect by notifying you in written form (including e-mail), if you fail to pay all costs related to your reservation in full and on time or when a double booking occurs (this rarely happens!), while no other room is available anymore. Cancellation is some cases may also be applied when the reservation price doesn’t match or seems to low compared to the correct price in our booking system during a certain period. Cancelation may also be the result of disobeying or breaking the rules of the Booking Conditions. This is in addition to other legal rights that we have because of your non-compliance with our agreement.

In exceptional circumstances, we may be obligated to cancel your reservation due to ‘force majeure’, which means ‘forces beyond our control’. If this happens, we will inform you as soon as possible and:

  • If you have paid already, we will refund your costs
  • If  you have not yet paid for your reservation, you do not have to do this anymore

We regret the possibility that we cannot contribute to any expenses or losses that you incur due to such a change or cancellation.

For the purpose of this clause, ‘force majeure’ is defined as any event that we could not foresee, even with the most care. As result, we cannot provide a room or guarantee a safe stay to you and fellow guests. These events may include: war, threat of war, civil unrest, terrorist activities, the consequences of the threat of such activities, riot, act of a government or other national or local authority including port authorities, labor dispute, closure, natural or nuclear disasters, fire, chemical or biological disasters and adverse weather, sea, ice and river conditions and such events beyond our control.

5. Insurance(s)

We strongly recommend that you take out a personal travel insurance or a (continuous) cancellation insurance for each member of your group. It is your responsibility to ensure that the insurance coverage that you purchase matches your personal needs in case of a cancellation. The Oude Pastorie does not check any insurance policies.
